It´s work presents an investigation of a rainwater catchment system in a small enterprise which develops automotive washing services in Curitiba – Paraná. Many aspects have been analyzed, as the system operating mechanisms and the reduction of potable water consumption. Material and labor costs were also evaluated to implement the system. Considering the methods recommended by Brazilian standard NBR 15527:2007 to calculate the volume catchment, which provides guidelines rainwater harvesting system dimension, we compared the potential of rainwater catchment on site with the demand to perform activities, so it was found that rain can provide up to 1,6 times the volume of water needed for washing over a year. The potable water consumption was reduced on 60% and the time of investment payback is around a year. This research has verified that the rainwater use is essential for potable water rationalization and has low costs to be set, resulting in a project that might be exported to every place with similar economy and climate conditions.
