Summary: Among all industries worldwide, the textile industry is one of the most polluting, generating large amounts of solid and liquid waste during almost all production processes. The laundry and dyeing sectors produce many effluents that require adequate treatment for disposal or reuse. Thus, adsorbents have been an alternative in the treatment of effluents since the adsorption process is simple and has a low cost. Therefore, the present work used the biomass produced by the fungus Botryosphaeria ribis EC-01 in a fermentation process, for the treatment of solutions containing the reactive dyes RB222 and BG2G in different concentrations 50 mg/L, 100mg/L and 200mg/L, in determined times up to 300 minutes. The pH of the medium was selected by determining the point of zero charge (PCZ), which was obtained at pH 5. The BG2G dye solutions (100mg/L and 200mg/L) were treated with biomass for 300 minutes with variations of pH (2 and 10) and temperature (15 and 35 ºC). In the initial experiments with the RB222 dye, evaluating the time, without adjusting the pH and temperature, the maximum discoloration (71± 4.46) was obtained using a dye solution at 100mg/L in 300 minutes. In the second stage of treatment, varying the temperature and pH of the solutions containing the BG2G dye, it was observed that the temperature adjustment negatively affected the discoloration process. On the other hand, the pH adjustment of the solution to pH 2 favored the process, reaching 766.34% of color removal. This work shows that the residual biomass from fermentation for producing fungal metabolites is viable for decolorizing a solution containing dye.

This work shows that the residual biomass from fermentation for producing fungal metabolites is viable for decolorizing a solution containing dye. Universidade Tecnológica Federal do ParanáApucaranaBrasilEngenharia TêxtilUTFPRAndrade, Milena MartinsCionek, Caroline ApoloniAndrade, Milena MartinsColtre, Dayane Samara de CarvalhoMontanher, Silvana FernandesSilva, Leticia Sotti2024-03-11T14:50:57Z2024-03-11T14:50:57Z2023-06-15info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesisapplication/pdfSILVA, Leticia Sotti.
