In order for the façade of the building to meet the requirements for which it is designed, it is necessary for the correct execution of regularization and finishing coatings. The facade, regardless of the type of coating, is subject to a series of natural and human elements that gradually deteriorate all the components involved. Among the most commonly used coatings are ceramics. Material made available in the market in different dimensions and properties, which must be analyzed during the design of the facade, aiming at the correct choice of ceramic material, adhesive mortar and grout. The use of ceramic tiles on the facade extends the main performance characteristics required. However, if improperly performed, it can even shorten the life of the building. Among the most common pathological manifestations are plaque detachment. This occurrence is aggravated by certain factors such as geographic position of the building façade, color of the coatings, absence of movement joints, failures in grouts and different faults in the execution as open time of the adhesive mortar superior to that indicated. This work had the objective of verifying the occurrence of these pathological manifestations in 45 buildings, in the city of Curitiba - PR, through the analysis of facade maintenance files, carried out by a specialized company, during the last 5 years. When evaluating the occurrence of detachment, it was observed that it is influenced by the mentioned factors, and it was possible to verify that the interrelationship among the factors intensify the appearance of the manifestation. The main relationship occurred between the detachment and the geographical position of the façade.
