The present work aimed to keep up with and give guidelines to the implementation of the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) indicator in a productive process. Its purpose was to obtain the indexes of availability, performance and quality that allowed verifying which losses that are impacting on the overall performance of the equipment analyzed, with a view to reducing wastes and costs consequently. In this way, it is intended to increase the productivity and the productive efficiency of this process, guaranteeing greater competitiveness to the company studied to face the global market. The theoretical background sought references on automation, productive efficiency, losses and wastes in the production processes, industrial maintenance and also the OEE indicator. The methodological procedure applied was the case study of the production lines of the Tigre Tools for Paints industry, from Castro, Paraná. The main results indicate that the analyzed company is well below the OEE indicators considered World Class Standard of the most efficient industries in the world, obtaining, in the period of study, averages of availability index of 66.58%, performance index of 64.92% and quality index of 92.20%, reaching an OEE indicator of 39.85%. Based on the results of the OEE performance indexes, the company identified the main losses that are harming its efficiency and will seek to remedy them, in order to achieve better performance and productivity in its processes and, therefore, greater competitiveness in the global scenario.
