O objetivo deste texto é analisar a transposição da rapsódia Macunaíma de Mário de Andrade para o teatro, realizada pelo diretor teatral Antunes Filho, em 1978. Por ser um teatro de pesquisa, será abordada da preparação à montagem final da peça, bem como, sua recepção pelo público e pela crítica. A finalidade é compreender como se deu essa transposição, tanto no nível textual, como no nível simbólico e de encenação, para então, situarmos o sucesso da peça, cinquenta anos depois da publicação da narrativa, e o marco que representou no teatro brasileiro.MACUNAÍMA: OF RHAPSODY FOR THE THEATERThe aim of this text is to analyze the transposition of rhapsody Macunaíma Mario de Andrade for the theater, performed by theater director Antunes Filho, in 1978. As is a theater research, will be addressed preparing the final assembly of the piece and, reception by the public and the critics. The purpose is to understand this transposition, both at the textual, as in the symbolic level and scenario and then, situate the success of the play, fifty years after the publication of the narrative, and in mark that represented the brazilian theater.
