Resumo: This article aims to describe and analyze Brazilian urban legislation throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, with a specific focus on laws that regulate land subdivision and land use. We acknowledge the origins of these laws, which have guided and standardized urban spaces in recent decades, particularly concerning the urban parameters established for city development. Thus, this article employs a dialectical and qualitative approach, aiming to conduct an analysis of theoretical references, along with data obtained through documentary research. In the end, we provide a comprehensive overview of the primary laws that have been approved in the contemporary Brazilian urban context, which have directed and standardized urban spaces.

Reconocemos el origen de estas leyes, las cuales han guiado y estandarizado el espacio urbano en las últimas décadas, especialmente en lo que respecta a los parámetros urbanos establecidos para el desarrollo de las ciudades. Por lo tanto, el artículo se apoya en un enfoque dialéctico y cualitativo; este estudio busca llevar a cabo un análisis de referencias teóricas, además de datos obtenidos a través de la investigación documental. Al final, proporcionamos una visión completa de las leyes principales que se han aprobado en el contexto urbano brasileño contemporáneo, las cuales han dirigido y estandarizado el espacio urbano.Este artigo objetiva descrever e analisar as legislações urbanísticas brasileiras ao longo dos séculos XX e XXI, com foco nas leis que regulamentam o parcelamento e o uso do solo. Reconhecemos a origem dessas leis que têm orientado e normatizado o espaço urbano nas últimas décadas, principalmente no que diz respeito aos parâmetros urbanísticos estabelecidos para o desenvolvimento das cidades. Assim, o artigo é apoiado em uma abordagem dialética e qualitativa, este estudo busca realizar uma análise dos referenciais teóricos, além de dados obtidos por meio de pesquisa documental.
