No presente artigo, objetiva-se analisar duas personagens femininas do conto Die beiden Nachbarn. Bilder aus der Kolonie [Os dois vizinhos. Cenas da colônia], de Rotermund, mobilizadas na mencionada narrativa com a finalidade de afirmar e difundir uma identidade feminina evangélica rural alemã. Essa análise baseia-se nas considerações de Tomaz Tadeu da Silva acerca da identidade e de Philippe Poutignat e de Jocelyne Sreiff-Fenart no que se refere à identidade étnica.
