The paper investigates the meanings and values that sustain artistic and cultural fruition, and to do so, analyzes the holy field Cemitério da Consolação and the Memory and Life Project. The project has the intention of transforming this space into a cultural asset. In order to carry out the investigation, documentary research was used, based on theoretical and practical elements that sustain the proposal, as well as its ways of doing. The Project Memory and Life of the Consolação Cemetery, at the same time that it encourages the appreciation of the art existing at the site, providing an opportunity for cultural fruition in a space composed abundantly of pieces of visual art, works for the preservation of the art existing at the Cemetery and its integration with the community, through its use beyond the funerary purpose. The appreciation of art, through the Project, makes the space effectively occupied, known and appreciated, contributing to the enjoyment of local culture.
