Summary: | The objective of this paper is to determine how is the global motor performance and fundamental motor skills of elementary school students in general and compared between genders. This cross-sectional study evaluated the motor performance of schoolchildren aged 7 to 10 years old. Weight and height were measured, the socioeconomic class and routine of the participants were determined, and motor performance was assessed using the Test of Gross Motor Development – 3 (TGMD-3). Were adopted the measures of large motor quotient, gross overall score and subtest, measured by skills, in addition to qualitative analysis. The overall motor performance of students is below expectations for their age, especially in ball skills. Emphasis for girls who were worse than boys, more specifically on skills to dribble and kicking a stationary ball. It concluded that the stimuli received by children throughout life, especially with manipulative activities, including in physical education classes, were not enough to develop the children's fundamental motor skills. |

It concluded that the stimuli received by children throughout life, especially with manipulative activities, including in physical education classes, were not enough to develop the children's fundamental motor skills. Research, Society and Development2021-11-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2310910.33448/rsd-v10i15.23109Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 No. 15; e361101523109Research, Society and Development; Vol. 10 Núm. 15; e361101523109Research, Society and Development; v. 10 n. 15; e3611015231092525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/23109/20429Copyright (c) 2021 Juscelino de Souza Borges Neto; Rodolfo Novellino Benda; Rommel Larcher Rachid Novais; Cezenário Gonçalves Campos; Juliana Mara Flores Bicalho; Márcia Christina Caetano Romano; Joel Alves Lamounierhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBorges Neto, Juscelino de Souza Benda, Rodolfo NovellinoNovais, Rommel Larcher RachidCampos, Cezenário Gonçalves Bicalho, Juliana Mara Flores Romano, Márcia Christina CaetanoLamounier, Joel Alves 2021-12-06T10:13:53Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/23109Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:42:04.811629Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
