Summary: | The objective of this study was to evaluate the substitution of sorghum meal per palm associated with Brachiaria decumbens as a bulk source in total feed silages. The experimental design was a completely randomized design, with four treatments (0, 33,3, 66,6 and 100% inclusion of palm in the diet) and eight replications. Thirty-two experimental PVC silos, 10 cm in diameter and 50 cm in length, equipped with a Bunsen valve were used. Chemical-bromatological analyzes were carried out (DM, CP, ashes, EE, NDFap, ADF, lignin, TC and TDN), determination of pH, ammonia nitrogen, effluent loss, gas loss, dry matter losses and dry matter recovery of silages. Forage palm is an additive that improves silage characteristics. The replacement of 100% of sorghum bran by palm in total diet silage presents better values for pH and ammoniacal nitrogen, lower losses by gases, effluents and dry matter and increased recovery of dry matter, in addition to improving the chemical composition of the silages. |

El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar, con cuatro tratamientos (0, 33,3, 66,6 y 100% de inclusión de nopal en la dieta) y ocho repeticiones. Se utilizaron 32 silos experimentales de PVC, de 10 cm de diámetro y 50 cm de largo, equipados con válvula Bunsen. Se realizaron análisis químico-bromatológicos (MS, PB, Ceniza, EE, FDNcp, FDA, lignina, CT y NDT), determinación de pH, nitrógeno amoniacal, pérdida de efluentes, pérdida de gases, pérdidas de materia seca y recuperación de materia seca de ensilajes. El nopal forrajero es un aditivo que mejora las características del ensilaje. La sustitución del 100% de salvado de sorgo por nopal en el ensilado de dieta total presenta mejores valores de pH y nitrógeno amoniacal, menores pérdidas por gases, efluentes y materia seca y un aumento en la recuperación de materia seca, además de mejorar la composición química de las plantas ensilajes.Objetivou-se avaliar a substituição de farelo de sorgo por palma forrageira associada à Brachiaria decumbens como fonte volumosa em silagens de dieta total. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, com quatro tratamentos (0, 33,3, 66,6 e 100% de inclusão de palma na dieta) e oito repetições. Foram utilizados 32 silos experimentais de PVC, com 10 cm de diâmetro e 50 cm de comprimento, equipados com válvula de Bunsen. Foram realizadas análises químico-bromatológicas (MS, PB, Cinzas, EE, FDNcp, FDA, lignina, CT e NDT), determinação do pH, nitrogênio amoniacal, perda por efluente, perda por gases, perdas de matéria seca e recuperação de matéria seca das silagens. A palma forrageira é um aditivo que melhora as características da silagem.
