Internationalization of companies in emerging countries and investment in the research center

Summary: Discussions on the theme Internationalization of companies have been relevant since the early 1990s. Thus, in view of the fact that the internationalization of companies is a phenomenon with significant expansion since then in a globalized scenario, this article aims to contribute to update the debate on the subject. Structuring the following issues: (1) globalization, (2) the new world economic order, (3) the link between foreign trade and (4) foreign direct investment, as well as, and (5) internationalization as a competitive strategy for strengthening companies in emerging countries through the development of research centers. The methodology used was exploratory and descriptive. As a result of this work, 4 hypotheses are presented and suggested as future studies: That the growth and development of international trade does not boost internationalization in an isonomic way, that emerging countries are the main attractors of international investment, that there is a need to predict the risks present in the internationalization of companies, and finally, that a current and competitive strategy would be the installation of Research Centers in emerging countries that favor the internationalization of companies.

Por lo tanto, en vista del hecho de que la internacionalización de las empresas es un fenómeno con una expansión significativa desde entonces en un escenario globalizado, este artículo tiene como objetivo contribuir para actualizar el debate sobre el tema. Estructurando los siguientes temas: (1) globalización, (2) el nuevo orden económico mundial, (3) el vínculo entre el comercio exterior y (4) la inversión extranjera directa, así como, y (5) la internacionalización como estrategia competitiva para fortalecer empresas en países emergentes a través del desarrollo de centros de investigación. La metodología utilizada fue exploratoria y descriptiva. Como resultado de este trabajo, se presentan 4 hipótesis y se sugieren como estudios futuros: que el crecimiento y el desarrollo del comercio internacional no impulsa la internacionalización de forma isonómica, que los países emergentes son los principales atractores de la inversión internacional, que existe la necesidad de prever los riesgos presentes en la internacionalización de las empresas y, finalmente, que una estrategia actual y competitiva sería la instalación de Centros de Investigación en países emergentes que favorezcan la internacionalización de las empresas.As discussões acerca do tema Internacionalização das empresas se mostraram relevantes desde o início dos anos 1990. Desta forma, tendo em vista o fato de que a internacionalização de empresas ser um fenômeno com significativa expansão desde então em um cenário globalizado, o presente artigo objetiva contribuir para a atualização do debate em relação ao assunto. Estruturando as seguintes questões: (1) a globalização, (2) a nova ordem econômica mundial, (3) a vinculação entre o comércio exterior e (4) os investimentos diretos estrangeiros, bem como, e (5) a internacionalização como sendo uma estratégia competitiva para o fortalecimento das empresas em países emergentes por meio do desenvolvimento de centros de pesquisa. A metodologia utilizada foi exploratória e descritiva.
