Challenges in remote mathematics teaching during the covid-19 pandemic: a systematic literature review

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic gave rise to the need for social isolation, causing the closing of schools, which, in order not to stop their activities, adhered to the remote teaching format. This format required a reconfiguration of classes and teaching methodologies adopted by teachers, bringing, consequently, numerous challenges. In this context, this research aimed to identify the challenges faced by teachers for remote teaching of Mathematics during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, a Systematic Literature Review was carried out in articles published between 2020 and 2021. Data were analyzed using a quantitative approach. As results, it was evident that the Mathematics teachers used several tools for remote teaching, the most recurrent being the videoconference platforms, the WhatsApp application and video classes on YouTube.

Este formato requirió una reconfiguración de las clases y de las metodologías de enseñanza adoptadas por los docentes, trayendo en consecuencia numerosos desafíos. En este contexto, esta investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar los desafíos que enfrentan los docentes para la enseñanza remota de Matemáticas durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Para ello, se realizó una Revisión Sistemática de la Literatura de artículos publicados entre 2020 y 2021. Los datos se analizaron con un enfoque cuantitativo. Como resultado se evidenció que los docentes de Matemáticas utilizan varias herramientas para la enseñanza a distancia, siendo las más recurrentes las plataformas de videoconferencia, la aplicación WhatsApp y las videoclases en YouTube. A pandemia da COVID-19 fez surgir a necessidade de isolamento social, ocasionando o fechamento das escolas, que, para não pararem suas atividades, aderiram ao formato remoto de ensino. Tal formato exigiu uma reconfiguração das aulas e metodologias de ensino adotadas pelos professores, trazendo, consequentemente, inúmeros desafios. Nesse contexto, esta pesquisa teve como objetivo identificar os desafios enfrentados por docentes para o ensino remoto de Matemática durante a pandemia da COVID-19. Para tanto, foi realizada uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura em artigos publicados entre os anos de 2020 e 2021. Os dados foram analisados a partir de uma abordagem quantitativa.
