Summary: The text presented is part of research carried out at PPGIES in 2022 and discusses the problem of youth, the target audience of high school in the context of the Semi-arid Northeast II of Bahia. It reflects on the concept of youth in relation to the current scenario of high school, the importance of strengthening the rights of young people and actions intrinsic to them, as well as the need and urgency of the public power to develop and implement public policies for young people in a participatory way. addresses the relevance of youth protagonism.The study has an option for the qualitative methodology using semi-structured interviews conducted with high school students. presents as a question: What is the profile and perceptions of high school students from a public school in Jeremoabo located in the semi-arid northeast II, about youth? The objective is to know and analyze the profile and perceptions of high school students from a public school in Jeremoabo about youth.The results indicated that the profile of the students is composed of the diversity of young people from the city and the countryside, in different social, cultural and economic conditions that conceive the youth as capable of living the youth protagonism. The conclusion indicates that the group is configured as young people who differ from their living conditions and expectations, as well as indicates that they demand specific public policies for young people, which can enhance youth protagonism.

Refleja sobre el concepto de juventud en relación con el escenario actual de la educación secundaria, la importancia de fortalecer los derechos de los jóvenes y las acciones intrínsecas a ellos, así como la necesidad y urgencia del poder público para desarrollar e implementar políticas públicas para los jóvenes de manera participativa. Aborda la relevancia del protagonismo juvenil. El estudio opta por la metodología cualitativa mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas a estudiantes de enseñanza media. presenta la siguiente pregunta: ¿Cuál es el perfil y las percepciones de los estudiantes de secundaria de una escuela pública de Jeremoabo ubicada en el Nordeste Semiárido II, sobre la juventud? El objetivo es conocer y analizar el perfil y las percepciones de los estudiantes de secundaria de una escuela pública de Jeremoabo sobre la juventud. Los resultados indicaron que el perfil de los estudiantes está compuesto por la diversidad de jóvenes de la ciudad y del campo, en diferentes condiciones sociales, culturales y económicas, lo que concibe a los jóvenes como capaces de vivir el protagonismo juvenil. La conclusión indica que el grupo se configura como jóvenes que se diferencian a partir de sus condiciones y expectativas, así como indica que demandan políticas públicas para los jóvenes que puedan potenciar el protagonismo juvenil.O texto apresentado é parte de pesquisa realizada no PPGIES em 2022 e discute a problemática da juventude, público alvo do ensino médio no contexto do Semiárido Nordeste II da Bahia. Reflete sobre o conceito de juventudes na relação com o cenário atual do ensino médio, a importância de fortalecimento dos direitos dos jovens e de ações intrínsecas a eles bem como a necessidade e urgência do poder público elaborar e implementar de forma participativa, políticas públicas para as juventudes e aborda a relevância do protagonismo juvenil.  O estudo tem opção pela metodologia qualitativa, com utilização de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com estudantes do ensino médio e apresenta como questão: qual perfil e percepções os estudantes do ensino médio de uma escola pública de Jeremoabo situada no Semiárido Nordeste II tem sobre juventude?  O objetivo é conhecer e analisar o perfil e percepções de estudantes do ensino médio de uma escola pública de Jeremoabo sobre juventude. Os resultados indicaram que o perfil dos estudantes é composto pela diversidade de jovens da cidade e do campo, em condições sociais, culturais e econômicas diversas que concebem a juventude como capaz de vivenciar o protagonismo juvenil.
