Summary: The proposal of the present text on literature and journalism: as complementary and not exculpatory areas, aim at to discourse on the approach between both the sorts, being given emphasis when journalistic making. At a first moment, the necessity appears of a brief historical panel, contexting the world of the journalism that, in its origins, counted on the active participation of writers in periodical writings. New journalism appears in this perspective as the first experience of disruption admitted to the traditional squeak of the press, either for the indignation of the conservationism; either for the irreverence in relation to the basic rules of the journalism, as objec-tiving and to moving away of the facts.

En un primer momento, aparece la necesidad de un breve panel histórico, contextualizando el mundo del periodismo que, en sus orígenes, contaba con la participación activa de escritores en las redacciones periodísticas. El nuevo periodismo aparece en esta perspectiva como la primera experiencia de la interrupción admitida al chirrido tradicional de la prensa, sea por la indignación de lo conservadorismo; sea por la irreverencia respecto a las reglas básicas del periodismo, como objetividad y distanciamiento de los hechos.A proposta do presente texto sobre literatura e jornalismo: áreas complementares e não excludentes, visa discorrer sobre a aproximação entre ambos os gêneros, dando ênfase ao fazer jornalístico. Em um primeiro momento, surge a necessidade de um sucinto painel histórico, contextualizando o mundo do jornalismo que, em suas origens, contava com a participação ativa de escritores nas redações de jornais.
