Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are spread mainly through condomless access, with virus carriers, with infections, or with fungal infections. Diseases have their importance as an aggravation to public health due to their high incidence and prevalence. Biopsychosocials and people are more prone to sexual vulnerability, which may be associated with discrimination in STIs and lack of awareness of thought, therefore, have a higher risk of contracting STIs. Understanding the factors to which they are exposed is essential for effective prevention and health promotion programs, especially in the school environment. The objective of this study was to evaluate the high school students' level of knowledge in the municipalities of Lagarto - SE and Simão Dias - SE about prevention, transmission, signs and symptoms of STIs, as well as the main oral manifestations. The study was conducted with information collected through a self-administered questionnaire at two times, before and after an lecture, consisting of 24 multiple choice questions, and included gender, age and level of knowledge about STIs. As a result, it was found that female participants had a higher average of correct answers (21,88). Most of them, after the lecture, said they know what is STI (99.3%) and prevention (99.4%) and think it is important to use condoms (99.7%). In addition, most of the youngsters demonstrated that they could relate the presence of wounds (72.6%) or warts (79.5%) with the presence of disease. However, despite the information obtained, there was still some insecurity about the theme explained. . It is concluded that students have answered a higher number of questions after the lecture and schools should act frequently, through educational actions that include general health promotion and education measures, where they can interact through dialogues and exchanges of experiences with students. teachers and parents, in order to solve doubts about the subject, since the school is a primordial means for integral attention to the adolescent health.
