Ulcer is a syndrome in which there is destruction of skin layers, sometimes reaching deeper tissues. Studies show that there is a predominance of women, the elderly and low-income people. The objective of the study is to assess sociodemographic characteristics of patients with chronic ulcer in the Healing Clinic of the University Hospital, Federal University of Sergipe (HU / UFS). 84 patients were interviewed, from August / 2012 to April / 2013; patients with chronic ulcers of all etiologies. The sociodemographic characteristics were analyzed using absolute and relative frequencies. The average age was 52.07 years; the predominant sex was female (55%); the majority of patients lived in Great Aracaju (56%); most of them were interviewed at the clinic (88% ); most of them had an individual income up to 2 minimum wages, same family income (62%). Agricultural workers or homeworkers corresponded to 45% of them, and the most used transport to HU was the bus (33%). In conclusion, the average profile was: woman, living in Great Aracaju with a low income.
