Summary: INTRODUCTION: Cerebral Palsy (CP) is an alteration that occurs in the development of the brain, which can cause changes in movement and cognition. Some people diagnosed with CP have speech disorders, unable to report the painful sensation through language. OBJECTIVE: To identify the profile of pain in children with cerebral palsy and its relationship with functionality. CASE DESCRIPTION: A case study was carried out with a male child, 11-years-old, attended at the Center for Simulations and Practices (CENSIP) of the Federal University of Sergipe, Campus Lagarto. The case was described using the CARE checklist. The Neurological Disability Pain Behavior Inventory (ICDDN) was also used - which did not score a significant pain score -, the Pediatric Disability Assessment Inventory (PEDI) in which part I (functional skills) and part II (caregiver assistance) the highest score was given in the social function, but all scored below 10 when compared to the population of the same age group. and the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) being classified as level V. CONCLUSION: Through the results obtained, the child presents delay in the development of all tasks, but has a higher score in social function, which can be due to their social insertion through therapeutic groups. With regard to pain, musculoskeletal pain remained prevalent. On the GMFCS scale, the child was classified at level V, corroborating the low mobility score obtained on the PEDI.
