This work is the result of an ethnography carried out in the city of Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, on the artistic and professional trajectory of seven women tattoo artists. The observation was made in their work environment: in two studios and two homestudios, and the methodological procedure used were the open interviews with the tattoo artists and also with some clients that I found in tattoo sessions, as well as interviews with other people who they had already tattooed with them. The focus of the research are the narratives of the tattoo artists and the perspective of the tattoo as a narrative, I intend to approach how the construction of the career of these women and the idiosyncrasies of their arts, I also try to apprehend the poetics in the surroundings of the tattoo.
