Summary: The professionalization of soccer management in Brazil is increasingly gaining ground, due to its high growth and impact in all spheres,economic, social and financial, taht the sport causes in our country. So Brazil being the “country of soccer”, we emphasize for a more accurate analysis, in one of the main figures that is present in the sport´s gear: the soccer coach. The position of the soccer coach is constantly the point of criticismo by fans and commentators, usually forgetting the soccer leaders who are less exposed to the spotlight compared to the coach. The aim of this paper is to understand the leadership profile of coaches from the viewpoint of former athletes, as well as core sub topics such as identifying which factors motivate the high turnover rate of this important function. The present work made use of the qualitative method, by conducting semi-structureed interviews with former athletes, thus favoring the interviewer to extract more information fot the analysis. Having a theoretical support in the area of people management, focusing on leadership issues, soccer, psychology and emotional intelligence. The research Project aims to discuss these themes, making correlations between them, to which they have great relevance. In addition to the contribution to the possible environment of professional soccer at local level.

Desta forma sendo o Brasil o “país do futebol”, para um análise mais apurada, em uma das principais figuras que está presente na engrenagem do esporte: o treinador de futebol. A posição do treinador de futebol é de forma constante o ponto de crítica por parte de torcedores e comentaristas, esquencendo-se normalmente dos dirigentes de futebol que se encontram , menos expostos aos “holofotes”em comparação ao treinador. Sendo o objetivo do presente trabalho compreender o perfil de liderança dos treinadores sob a visão dos ex atletas, além de sub tópicos centrais tais como identificar quais fatores motivam a alta taxa de rotatividade dessa função tão importante. O presente trabalho fez uso do método qualitativo, através da realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas com ex atletas, desta forma favoreceu ao entrevistador extrair mais informações para a análise. Tendo uma sustentação téorica, na área de gestão de pessoas, com o enfoque em quesitos de liderança, psicologia no futebol e inteligência emocioanal. O projeto de pesquisa vista discutir essas temáticas, fazendo correlações entre elas, ao qual possuem grande relevância.
