This research investigates the work of Brazilian black women filmmakers, eyeing at their aesthetics, methodologies and ways to make their achievements and distributions viable. The crossing between women, black and artists points out black women filmmakers as central to this dissertation, in view of an afrocentric methodology, and an oppositional gaze to find these women who were previously invisible by the history of National Cinema. The objective is to add this work to the projects of counter-hegemonic narratives that cultural movements of black origin develop under the influence of Brazilian black movements, going against the stereotypes of the black people, and encouraging the empowerment of new black women artists through the representativeness that these black women has in the history of Brazilian Black Cinema. The theoretical-methodological process of the research finds reference in authors such as Joice Berth, bell hooks, Ergimino Mucale, Conceição Evaristo, Grada Kilomba and Janaína Oliveira. In the same way, it establishes a relationship with the meaning of curator (cure - pain), reflected in my productions as a writer (living) - experiences, in the search for dialogue with the productions of the reference artists in the investigation, contributing to my own empowerment as an artist and, with the academic community in the discussion about black representativeness in the production in Art.
