Brazilian Carnival is one of the largest events on the planet. Surrounded by grandeur, mysticism, and revelry, it attracts millions of people to its festivities. In this context, Olinda (PE) stands out as one of the main destinations, celebrating a blend of local traditional elements with the structure of a massive event. Focusing on the investigation of the relationship between the international and the culture of Carnival in Olinda, the study delves into the experiences of the Maracambuco group, analyzing them from an international relations perspective through an ethnographic method. An interpretation of these experiences is presented, grounded in information collected from interviews and ethnographic research. Thus, the research highlights the close relationship and significance that international relations have with the Carnival of the city, based on the experiences of the members of Nação Maracambuco. Additionally, the study details the experience of producing this work, aiming to contribute to the research practices within the International Relations course at UFPB.
