Entering the school gates and taking the shoes off: Experience report on the pedagogical process of circus activities

Summary: This experience report presents the development of an educational project in circus activities, with pedagogical practices over a school year with a class of the 5th year of Elementary School I, in a city in the interior of São Paulo. The teaching and learning of circus activities was guided by the intertwining of the phenomenological perspective of the body and the sociology of childhood. The report was built based on field diary records, which consisted of daily notes about pedagogical experiences. The evaluation also included records of the children's perceptions in a focus group and a semi-structured interview with the class teacher (Pedagogue) and the School’s Principal. The main transformations observed were: the expansion of individual and collective bodily possibilities, the strengthening of autonomy and child protagonism and the redefinition of interpersonal relationships at school with the development of social aspects such as cooperation, responsibility and a sense of belonging and group formation, in addition to promoting artistic, aesthetic and bodily sensitivity.

La enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las actividades circenses se guió por el entrelazamiento de la perspectiva fenomenológica del cuerpo y la sociología de la infancia. El informe se elaboró ​​a partir de registros de diarios de campo, que consistían en notas diarias sobre experiencias pedagógicas. La evaluación también incluyó registros de las percepciones de los niños en un grupo focal y una entrevista semiestructurada con el maestro de clase (Pedagogo) y la directora de la escuela. Las principales transformaciones observadas fueron: la ampliación de las posibilidades corporales individuales y colectivas, el fortalecimiento de la autonomía y el protagonismo infantil y la redefinición de las relaciones interpersonales en la escuela y el desarrollo de aspectos sociales como la cooperación, la responsabilidad y el sentido de pertenencia y formación grupal. Además de promover la sensibilidad artística, estética y corporal.Este relato de experiência apresenta o desenvolvimento de um projeto educativo em atividades circenses, com práticas pedagógicas ao longo de um ano letivo com uma turma do 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental I, em uma cidade do interior paulista. O ensino e a aprendizagem das atividades circenses se orientaram a partir do entrelaçamento da perspectiva fenomenológica de corpo e a sociologia da infância. O relato foi construído apoiado nos registros do diário de campo, que consistiu em anotações diárias acerca das vivências pedagógicas. Já a avaliação contou também com os registros das percepções das crianças em grupo focal e entrevista semiestruturada com a professora da turma (Pedagoga) e diretora da escola.
