Summary: The term actor emerges in the semiotic tradition to replace the concept of character (or dramatis persona). The aim of the article is to resume the theoretical assumptions of the aforementioned notion, bringing to light recent contributions. The theoretical foundation of this work is based, on the one hand, on the seminal studies of discursive semiotics (GREIMAS; COURTÉS, 2008; GREIMAS, 1973; 2014), and, on the other, on the recent developments of tensive semiotics (FONTANILLE; ZILBERBERG, 2001) . Methodologically, this study is intended to be descriptive (MARCONI; LAKATOS, 2003), making a non-exhaustive bibliographical review of the main theoretical assumptions related to the concept of actor and the construction of the concept of collective actor. As a result, the relevance of the concept addressed to contemporary discursive studies is verified, demonstrating the state of the art of the notion of actor in semiotic theory.

El fundamento teórico de este trabajo se basa, por un lado, en los estudios seminales de la semiótica discursiva (GREIMAS; COURTÉS, 2008; GREIMAS, 1973; 2014), y, por otro, en los recientes desarrollos de la semiótica tensiva (FONTANILLE ; ZILBERBERG, 2001). Metodológicamente, este estudio pretende ser descriptivo (MARCONI; LAKATOS, 2003), realizando una revisión bibliográfica no exhaustiva de los principales supuestos teóricos relacionados con el concepto de actor y la construcción del concepto de actor colectivo. Como resultado, se verifica la relevancia del concepto dirigido a los estudios discursivos contemporáneos, demostrando el estado del arte de la noción de actor en la teoría semiótica.O termo ator emerge na tradição semiótica em substituição ao conceito de personagem (ou dramatis persona). O objetivo do artigo é retomar os pressupostos teóricos da supracitada noção, trazendo à luz contribuições recentes. A fundamentação teórica deste trabalho se assenta, de um lado, nos estudos seminais da semiótica discursiva (GREIMAS; COURTÉS, 2008; GREIMAS, 1973; 2014), e, de outro, nos desdobramentos recentes da semiótica tensiva (FONTANILLE; ZILBERBERG, 2001). Metodologicamente, este estudo se propõe a ser descritivo (MARCONI; LAKATOS, 2003), fazendo uma retomada bibliográfica, não exaustiva, dos principais pressupostos teóricos relacionados ao conceito de ator e da construção do conceito de ator coletivo.
