Resumo: The global energy matrix enlarges faster than ever the installed capacity of renewable and non-pollutant power plants so that they become more significant in the total energy production. The photovoltaic solar energy in special gained popularity because it has seen its price plummeting more than 99% in the last three decades, which made its use viable in many applications. One of them, approached in this project, is the floating solar system which among other advantages, it can be cited: a water evaporation reduction in resevoirs, a reduction in algae growth leading maintenance cost decrease in hydro power plants, a better solar panel efficiency due to a lower temperature operation. The purpose of this study was to define and execute an economic valuation method of a floating solar system grid-tied in Brazil specifically on the Luiz Gonzaga hydro power plant’s lake. In order to do it, it has been studied the inputs needed to set up a floating solar power plant and the economic valuation methods, such as: Net Present Value, Profitability Index, Internal Return Rate, Discounted Payback and Equivalent Annual Cost. At the end of the study, after the 20-year cash flow elaboration, it has been noticed which inputs and parameters significantly provided more to the enterprise’s feasibility. And then, it has been studied how changes of these inputs could influence the viability of the business. Finally, it could be concluded that under the applied conditions and assumptions and the collected data the floating solar power plant is not economically viable. A energia solar fotovoltaica, em especial, se popularizou porque teve uma queda de preços de mais de 99% nas últimas décadas, viabilizando seu uso em muitas aplicações. Uma delas, que é a abodada neste trabalho, é no sistema solar flutuante, que dentre outras vantagens, pode-se citar: a redução na evaporação da água do reservatório e a diminuição do crescimento de algas que reduz manutenção em equipamentos de hidroelétrica, melhoria da eficiência do painel devido à operação em menor temperatura. Então, a finalidade deste trabalho foi definir e executar um método de avaliação econômica de um sistema solar flutuante conectado à rede no Brasil, mais específicamente, no lago da hidroelétrica de Luiz Gonzaga. Para isto, foram estudados os insumos necessários para se instalar e operar uma usina solar fotovoltaica flutuante e os métodos de avaliação de investimento, que são: Valor Presente Líquido, Índice de Lucratividade, Taxa Interna de Retorno, Payback descontado e Custo Anual Equivalente. Ao final do estudo, após elaboração de fluxo de caixa para 20 anos, pode-se observar quais são os insumos e parâmetros mais significativos para a viabilidade do empreendimento, e então foi estudado como a variação influenciaria a viabilidade do negócio. Enfim, pode ser concluido que, sob as condições e premissas utilizadas e os dados coletados neste trabalho, a usina solar flutuante não é economicamente viável.
