In the course of history, as well as in literature, the submission of patriarchal culture, physical, emotional, economic and moral oppression imposed on women, silencing in various social spheres. Based on the perspectives of genre, literature and silence, we take as a reference of studies, scientific articles and books that postulate the ideas of Orlandi (2007), Monteiro (2019), Candido (2000), Beauvoir(1961), Buttler(2018), Zinane and Santos (2010), among others. The objective of this work is to carry out a discursive analysis of the meanings of silence and silencing, taking as an object of analysis the work Nará-Sue Uarená (2012), by Nenê Macaggi. The narrative contemplates the trajectory of a young Indian woman and her grandfather, who, after a tragedy that decimated their tribe and family, need to go out in search of a new place to live and this trip will lead the main character Nará-Sue to meet a young foreman. . The study, of bibliographic character, initially proposes to list theoretical discussions about the author's productions and the corpus in question; in the second part, women's literature and silence will focus on the representativeness of the processes of power and violations that occur against women. The research is completed from the problematization and exemplification of the meanings of silence in the work Nará-Sue Uarená in such a way that we can contribute from the literary bias and the analyzes carried out, with the clarification of the possible constituent elements of silence and silencing.
