Summary: From the Atlas Prévios dos Falares Baianos (APFB) (ROSSI, 1963) data and the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil Project confrontation's, we came to the thesis’ theme (in progress) "The fauna in Bahia: from APFB to ALiB", which analyzes these important Brazilian atlases corpora. The present work has as main objective peculiarities identification the smelly person question - opossum (Letter 141-APFB / QSL 71-ALiB) (COMITÊ NACIONAL...2001) in the corpora. The data analyzed seeks to reflect the nine cities scenario linguistic and cultural in Bahia of that coincided in the consulted documents. It is believed that the semantic-lexical description of Bahian fauna will allow for the Brazilian Portuguese knowledge the subsidies provision, in addition the investigating cultural phenomena possibility, based on linguistic data.

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo principal a identificação das peculiaridades para a questão pessoa com mau cheiro – gambá (Carta 141-APFB /QSL 71-ALiB) (COMITÊ NACIONAL...2001) nos corpora. Os dados analisados procuram refletir o cenário linguístico e cultural das nove cidades baianas coincidentes nos documentos consultados.
