Summary: Copyright © 2004 IFAC.This contribution addresses the modular synthesis of supervisory controllers for a class of hybrid systems called event-driven hybrid systems. The objective is to synthesize nonblocking supervisors, each to enforce specific tasks given in terms of sequence of threshold events, in such a way that the joint action of these supervisors is nonblocking and optimal. The problem is formulated within the framework of condition/event systems and it is converted into a modular supervisor synthesis problem for discrete-event systems. A condition under which the proposed approach can be applied is given and an example is presented.
