Para tanto, foi realizado o levantamento de dados de quinhentas fichas clínicas (RDC/DTM adaptado), coletadas aleatoriamente, observando-se: gênero, idade, profissão, origem de encaminhamento, nível de escolaridade, queixa de dor e, caso se apresente, tempo desde seu surgimento. Os resultados foram analisados estatisticamente e revelaram que o paciente padrão é do gênero feminino, com idade entre 31 a 50 anos, exerce atividades no lar, tem nível médio de instrução, procurou tratamento por causa de dor que se apresenta há cinco anos, por indicação do próprio CPOSLM. The aim of this study was to determinate the profile of the Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain (TMD/DOF) Clinic's patient of the School of Dentistry and Dental Research Center São Leopoldo Mandic, which is in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. To reach this purpose, a data survey was made. Five hundred clinical records were randomly collected and analyzed, observing: gender, age, occupation, referral source to treatment, education level, complaint of pain and its due. The results were statistically assessed and they revealed that the standart patient is a woman, from 31 to 50 years old, housewife, with high school degree, sought treatment by indication from the CPOSLM, in decorrence of pain, wich has beginned 5 years ago.
