Resumo: The purpose of this dissertation is to identify the processes of Europeanization in Portugal regarding women's rights and domestic violence, from 1974 to 2019. Radaelli's (2000, 2003, 2006) concept of Europeanization, and document analysis and statistical data analysis were the research methods chosen in order to understand if and how European Union membership had any influence in portuguese women's rights. This research suggests that both domestic violence and women's rights in Portugal were influenced by the European Union following the Beijing (1995) and Istanbul Conventions (2011).
