Resumo: Head injury is one of the most important public health­ althproblems. Minor head injury accounts for 75% or more of all brain injuries. Perhaps 50% of patients with minor head injury will develop the post-concus­sion syndrome. ln spite ofthefrequent occurrence of minor head injury, the post-concusswn syndrome has received li­ tle attentionfrom the medical community. Neverthe­less, the syndrome is a well defined clinical entity with anatomopathologica, electrophysiological and imagiological properties.

O traumatismo crani­ano ligeiro constitui cerca de 75% de todos os trau­matismos cranianos. Destes doentes, cerca de 50% vão desenvolver um síndrome pós-concussão.
