Na verdade, é sob o signo da participação dos leitores, ouvintes e telespectadores que muitos estudos têm organizado os desafios do digital e da potencial interactividade entre aqueles que nos habituámos a reconhecer na qualidade de emissores e receptores. Orientada pela experiência curricular de três meses na redacção da TSF – Rádio Jornal (no período de Novembro de 2007 a Fevereiro de 2008), a presente dissertação procura também ser um contributo neste domínio. Não permitindo, porém, a natureza deste trabalho, uma tarefa demasiado ambiciosa, tomase aqui como pretexto de um processo de questionação, apenas um programa em concreto, o Fórum da TSF, organizando-se uma reflexão em torno da seguinte interrogação: “Que razões levam à participação dos ouvintes num espaço de opinião pública?” O tronco central desta dissertação visa, portanto, questionar os motivos que levam o ouvinte a participar em programas de antena aberta. Tratar-se-á de uma participação motivada por um particular desejo de alterar, de algum modo, a realidade política, social ou cultural? Ou, pelo contrário, tratar-se-á de uma participação desinteressada, justificada apenas pelo próprio prazer de emitir opinião? Partem estas questões da observação de um episódio particular. Em Dezembro de 2007, surgiram informações em todos os meios de comunicação social do país acerca da intenção do Governo de cobrar, aos portugueses, uma taxa de utilização de sacos de plástico, em todos os supermercados e hipermercados do país. A notícia foi objecto de debate em vários espaços de opinião pública, incluindo o Fórum da TSF. A nota dominante nestes espaços foi, precisamente, a onda de reacções negativas dos participantes sobre o tema. A verdade é que o Governo, pelo menos no curto prazo, recuou, aparentemente deixando cair a intenção anunciada. Não pretendendo analisar este caso em concreto, mas tomá-lo apenas como pretexto, concentra-se este relatório especialmente na exploração das motivações dos ouvintes. Para tanto, apresenta-se em matéria de conclusões o resultado de um inquérito por questionário a uma amostra acidental de ouvintes/participantes.Thinking of radio in the context of the new technologies of information must not be an alienated task of one of the most outstanding characteristics of radio broadcasting: its association to the telephone and, consequently, its ability to listen to the listener himself. In fact, it is under the sign of the participation of the readers, listeners, and viewers many studies have been organized. The challenges of the digital era and the potential interaction between those that we recognize as transmitters and receivers are, equally, one focus of several studies. Under the experience in the traineeship curriculum I have carried out in TSF – Rádio Jornal (during the period of November 2007 to February 2008), the present dissertation also tries to be a contribution in this area. However, this paper doesn’t want to take the role of an ambitious study. The program taken here as a pretext of this process of questioning is the Forum of TSF, in an organized reflection around the following question: “Which reasons lead to the participation of the listeners in a space of public opinion?” The central focus of this dissertation aims, therefore, to question the reasons that lead the listeners to participate in programs of open antenna. In one hand, is it a participation caused by a particular wish to change, in some way, the political, social or cultural reality? Or, in the other hand, is it a disinterested participation, justified only by the pleasure of giving out opinions? These questions came out after an observation of a particular episode. The episode occurred on the 5th of December as the country awoke to the sound of recent broadcasts in which it was informed of the governments’ intent to collect from the Portuguese people taxes on plastic bags, in all supermarkets and mega stores of the country. This situation was set as an object of discussion in several spaces of public opinion, including the Forum of TSF. The high note in such circles was, precisely, the negative wave of the flooding commentary expressed a great discontent against such governmental measures. In fact, the truth is that the Government, at least in the short term, has decided, apparently, to give up the announced intention. The intention of this paper is not to analyse this case specifically, but to make it only as a pretext. The focus is, precisely, to understand the reasons behind the motivations of the listeners.
