Este Relatório, apresentado à Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, constitui o resultado da reflexão da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada realizada no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino de Inglês e de Espanhol no Ensino Básico. Considerando a imagem uma ferramenta essencial e potenciadora de um processo de ensino-aprendizagem eficaz, tanto no Inglês como no Espanhol, enquanto línguas estrangeiras, no ensino básico, serão apresentadas atividades e estratégias, implementadas ao longo das aulas de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada, de forma a demonstrar a sua eficácia. Em conjunto com estudos teóricos realizados por diversos estudiosos e tendo por base os normativos legais que regem o ensino das línguas estrangeiras em Portugal, apresentam-se neste Relatório as inúmeras vantagens do recurso a esta ferramenta. Tendo como objetivo último a participação ativa e central do aluno no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, o uso da imagem, enquanto ferramenta pedagógica, revela-se extremamente potenciadora desse envolvimento nas atividades. Pretende-se que o aluno tenha um papel ativo e central no processo de ensino-aprendizagem e para isso muito contribui o uso da imagem como ferramenta pedagógica. This report, presented to the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, is the result of the Supervised Teaching Practice undertaken within the context of the Master in Teaching English and Spanish in Basic School. Considering the image an essential tool for an effective teaching and learning process, both in English and in Spanish as foreign languages in primary schools, activities and strategies implemented during the lessons of Supervised Teaching Practice will be presented, in order to demonstrate its efficacy. Together with theoretical studies carried out by several scholars and based on legal regulations governing teaching foreign languages in Portugal, many benefits of using this tool will be focused in this report. Aiming at the student’s central and active participation in the teaching and learning process, the use of the image as a teaching tool, improves his/her involvement in the activities. It is intended that the student has an active and central role in the teaching and learning process and to this greatly contributes the use of the image as a pedagogical tool.
