This study aimed to understand the nature of the relationship between personality traits and attachment styles. The sample consisted of 113 subjects from both genders, aged between 20 and 50 years old. The data collection instruments used were the NEO-Five Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) and the Romantic Attachment Questionnaire (QVA). These were subjected to reliability procedures (internal consistency), revealing adequate Cronbach's alpha values. The results point in the direction of the revised literature, with subjects with insecure attachment presenting higher values of Neuroticism compared to subjects with Secure Attachment (although, in this case, without statistical significance, p = 0.054 ), and lower values of Openness to Experience (p = 0.006), Extraversion (p = 0.045) and Agreeableness (p = 0.021).
