CARACTERIZAÇÃO: O teste avalia a atenção seletiva, o controle inibitório e a flexibilidade cognitiva (componentes do funcionamento executivo), e também envolve uma habilidade verbal (leitura).   ESTRUTURA E PONTUAÇÃO: O teste inclui três cartões: 1) um cartão de reconhecimento de cores de pré-teste, com 4 "X" impresso em quatro cores diferentes [preto (hex: 000000), azul (hex: 0096FF), verde (hex: 00E000 ), rosa (hex: FF72DE)]; 2) um cartão de treino de leitura e nomeação de cor com 4 palavras escritas em quatro cores incongruentes; 3) um cartão de estímulo com quatro colunas de 28 itens cada (total de 112 palavras) para a tarefa de leitura e para a tarefa de interferência. A tarefa de interferência envolve a nomeação da cor das palavras, que são escritas em cores incongruentes. Após o reconhecimento de cores (cartão 1), leitura e treino de nomeação (cartão 2), os participantes são instruídos a ler palavras e nomear as cores, o mais rápido possível (cartão 3). Em ambas as tarefas os números das respostas corretas são anotados (total de respostas menos os erros), registando o tempo gasto em cada tarefa, no tempo máximo de 120 segundos. A redução de velocidade na tarefa de interferência é referida como efeito de interferência palavra-cor. A diferença entre as pontuações nas tarefas de leitura (número / 120 seg.) e nomeação (número / 120 seg.) permite calcular o índice de controle inibitório.   CARACTERÍSTICAS PSICOMÉTRICAS: A consistência interna, medida pelo alfa de Cronbach para as tarefas de leitura e nomeação, foi excelente (α = 0,99). A confiabilidade teste-reteste foi adequada (Leitura: r = 0,48; p = 0,06; Nomeação: r = 0,85; p < 0,001; índice de controle inibitório: r = 0,61; p < 0,01). As pontuações na Nomeação correlacionaram-se com as medidas de funcionamento executivo (Bateria de Avaliação Frontal: r = 0,33, p < 0,01; Figura Complexa de Rey-Osterrieth: r = 0,33, p <0,01), garantindo a sua validade convergente. || CHARACTERIZATION: The test assesses selective attention, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility (components of executive functioning), but also involves a verbal skill (reading). STRUCTURE AND SCORING: The test includes three cards: 1) a pre-test color recognition card, with 4 "X" printed in four different colors [black (hex: 000000), blue (hex: 0096FF), green (hex: 00E000), pink (hex: FF72DE)]; 2) a reading and naming color training card with 4 words written in four incongruent colors; 3) a stimulus card with four columns of 28 items each (total 112 words) for the reading task and for the interference task. The interference task involves the naming of the color of words, which are written in incongruent colors. After color recognition (card 1), reading and naming training (card 2), participants are instructed to read words and to name colors, as fast as possible (card 3). In both tasks the numbers of the correct answers are recorded (total of answers less the errors), registering the time spent in each task, in the maximum time of 120 seconds. The speed reduction in the interference task is referred as word-color interference effect. The difference between scores in the reading (number / 120 sec.) and naming (number / 120 sec.) tasks allows to compute the inhibitory control index. PSICOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS: Internal consistency, measured by Cronbach's alphas for reading and naming tasks were excellent (α = 0.99). Test-retest reliabilities were adequate (Reading: r = 0.48; p = .06; Naming: r = 0.85; p < .001; inhibitory control index: r = 0.61; p < .01). Naming scores correlated with measures of executive functioning (Frontal Assessment Battery: r = 0.33; p < .01; Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure: r = 0.33; p < .01), assuring its convergent validity.
