Esta tecnologia, que recorre à utilizaçãode inteligência artificial através da interação e interpretação da linguagem natural, será desenvolvidacom o objetivo de auxiliar no combate à doença. Com o aumento da capacidadecomputacional dos dispositivos e, principalmente, da acessibilidade dos mesmos à maioriada população mundial, existe cada vez mais um interesse no desenvolvimento de soluçõestecnológicas que permitam, não só o melhoramento do estilo de vida, como a automatizaçãode certos serviços. É neste sentido que a exploração de tecnologia, com recurso àinteligência artificial, tem vindo a crescer, assim como o seu potencial a nível comercial,em particular, os chatbots. Este projeto trata não só de tirar o proveito dos benefícios epotenciais que as tecnologias atuais nos oferecem, como também de satisfazer a necessidadede acesso à informação sobre o vírus. Sem dúvida alguma que, a desconfiança e estigmatização,por falta de informação da população, acaba por ajudar na propagação deste vírus.Com este chatbot, será possível responder às questões dos utilizadores, disponibilizandoinformação atualizada diariamente sobre a situação pandémica de Portugal. O presentedocumento contém fundamentos teóricos e toda a investigação previamente realizada sobreo tema que, posteriormente, permitiram a definição da arquitetura do chatbot, dos serviçosutilizados e o planeamento utilizado para a implementação. É também descrito todo oprocesso de implementação relativo ao chatbot e o respetivo sistema de monitorização. Adissertação é concluída com uma análise de testes realizados, ponderações futuras e umareflexão final.The main objective of the current dissertation is the development of a portuguese chatbotthat is able to provide COVID-19 related informations. This technology, that resortsfrom the use of artificial intelligence, will be developed to assist the combat of the diseasethrough the interaction and interpretation of natural language. With the developmentin the computing capacity of the technological devices and, mainly their accessibility tothe world population, there is an increasing interest in the development of technologicalsolutions that not only improve our lifestyle, but also the automation of certain services.The exploration of technology, using artificial intelligence, has been growing as well as itscommercial potential, in particular, the chatbots. This project not only takes advantageof the potencial and benefits that this type of tecnology gives us, but also satisfies theneed of access to information about the pandemic since the lack of reliable data, can bein the origin of distrust, stigmatization and myths that end up helping propagate thevirus. With the help of this chatbot it will be possible to answer the users questions bydelivering updated information about the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Portugal. Thisdocument contains theoretical foundations and all the information collected on the subjectthat allowed the definition of the chatbot architecture, services used and implementationstrategy. Moreover, it is also described the definition of test methodologies and the planningof the implemmentation to be performed.
