Gestão da qualidade e ambiente de trabalho: investigação empírica em instituições particulares de solidariedade social (IPSS) no concelho de Estremoz

O estudo que se propõe desenvolver analisa a forma como elementos de Gestão da Qualidade Total (GQT), inspirados na obra de Deming, interagem com o ambiente de trabalho, em Instituições Particulares de Solidariedade Social (IPSS), de apoio à terceira idade, no concelho de Estremoz. A relação entre os elementos de GQT e o ambiente de trabalho foi definida através de cinco hipóteses diferentes (Taveira et al., 2003). Os dados de suporte ao estudo foram obtidos através da aplicação de questionários aos colaboradores e Corpos Sociais das IPSS do concelho de Estremoz, escolhidas para realização do estudo, tendo por base os critérios de serem IPSS, Lares de Idosos, pertencerem ao concelho de Estremoz e que não fizerem parte da rede da Santa Casa da Misericórdia. Procedeu-se à análise das implicações para as práticas de GQT e a dimensão do ambiente de trabalho, através da aferição das relações entre os ambos, que foram discutidas pelo confronto dos resultados obtidos. Verificadas as hipóteses constatou-se que a maioria não se confirmou; - ABSTRACT: Quality Management and Work Environment: An Empirical investigation in Non-Profit Organisations in the Estremoz district The study we now propose analyses the way in which the Total Quality Management (TQM) elements, inspired in Deming’s work, interact with the Work Environment, in Non-Profit Organisations, regarding the support to elder people, in the Estremoz district. The relation between the TQM elements and the work environment was defined through five different hypothesis (Taveira et al., 2003). The study sustaining data was obtained through a survey administration to the employees and Board Members of the IPSS of the council of Estremoz, chosen to be the object of this study, having the criteria of being IPSS, retirement homes, which are based in Estremoz but that aren’t part of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia network. An analysis regarding the implications to the TQM and the work environment dimension took place through the appraisal of the relation between them both, that was discussed by the comparison of the results obtained. Once the hypotheses were checked the conclusion was that the majority didn’t have confirmation.
