Resumo O Ecoturismo em geral e o Turismo de Natureza em particular têm sido dos sectores económico com crescimento mais vigoroso nos últimos vinte anos no continente europeu. O Plano Estratégico Nacional para o Turismo concede a estes sectores especial protagonismo da região centro de Portugal. Coincidentemente, nas duas últimas décadas o conhecimento científico acerca do património natural desta região evoluiu significativamente graças a novos trabalhos de levantamento de campo e de investigação académica. O trabalho agora em apreço visou selecionar e antologiar informações a respeito dos mais notáveis atrativos para o ecoturismo desta região, em particular no que concerne à interpretação da Natureza, e traçar cartograficamente vários roteiros que permitam a agentes turísticos e turistas otimizarem o seu itinerário pelo território. Palavras-Chave: ecoturismo, turismo de natureza, região centro, Portugal, roteiro Abstract Ecotourism in general and Nature Tourism in particular have been the economic sectors with the most vigorous growth in the last twenty years on the European continent. The National Strategic Plan for Tourism gives these sectors a special role in the central region of Portugal. Coincidentally, in the last two decades scientific knowledge about the natural heritage of this region has evolved significantly thanks to new field research and academic research. The work now under consideration aimed to select and anthologe information about the most notable attractions for ecotourism in this region, in particular with regard to the interpretation of Nature, and mapping several itineraries that allow tourist agents and tourists to optimize their itinerary through the territory.
