Acompanhamento da saúde sénior : uma proposta de aplicação para dispositivos móveis

The aim of this study is to conceptualize and develop a mobile application, which is adapted to the senior user, in order to complement the accompaniment and moni¬toring of senior health. The project seeks to take advantage of existing monitoring services, such as Saúde 24 Sénior, and to complement their role in accompanying the elderly, while seeking to bring them closer to their relatives and caregivers and thus reduce social isolation. The study is developed, firstly, according to a contextualization of the elderly and their relation with new technologies, while focusing on their application in the field of health with the aim of improving the quality of life of the elderly. Following this theoretical framework, we address the human factors of aging to be considered in the construction of an interface design product for seniors, and present graphical interface design and interaction design guidelines, adequate for this specific public. Subsequently, we analyze mobile applications that focus on the health care of the elderly, in order to extract useful information for the practical project. This analysis is developed at the level of services and specific functionalities provided by the applications, as well as at the level of design adequacy to the senior user. Finally, the design principles exposed in the theoretical component and the information extrac¬ted from the analytical component, are combined in the development of a practical component that follows a user-centered design methodology. The results of this study is the proposal of a mobile application that, at the service level, seeks to complement senior health care monitoring and, at the design level, aims to apply interface and interaction design principles appropriate to the senior user. This approach seeks to take advantage of the potential of the new media in the monitoring of the elderly, while stressing the need to create inclusive products that can be used by diversified users, in particular, the senior user
