This area is rapidly growing mainly because of the great structural diversity of MOFs offering almost infinite possibilities. MOFs can be considered as ideal platforms to prepare porous carbons with highly dispersed metallic species or even single-metal atoms under strictly controlled thermal conditions. This review briefly summarizes synthetic strategies to prepare MOFs and MOF-derived porous carbons. The main focus relies on the application of the MOF-derived porous carbons to fine chemical synthesis. Among the most explored reactions, the oxidation and reduction reactions are highlighted, although some examples of coupling and multicomponent reactions are also presented. However, the application of this type of catalyst in the green synthesis of biologically active heterocyclic compounds through cascade reactions is still a challenge.LAQV@REQUIMTEDQ - Departamento de QuímicaRUNPérez-Mayoral, ElenaGodino-Ojer, MarinaMatos, InêsBernardo, Maria2023-06-28T22:18:46Z2023-03-082023-03-08T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/other34application/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/154567eng2073-4344PURE: 64819506https://doi.org/10.3390/catal13030541info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (RCAAP)instname:FCCN, serviços digitais da FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologiainstacron:RCAAP2024-05-22T18:12:27Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/154567Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireinfo@rcaap.ptopendoar:https://opendoar.ac.uk/repository/71602025-05-28T17:42:45.788542Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (RCAAP) - FCCN, serviços digitais da FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologiafalse
