Resumo: | In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed the traditional design process worldwide. This technology enables designers across various sectors to rethink how to collect and analyse data and more sustainably express creativity in the design process. In the design field, Artificial Intelligence offers innovative alternatives to improve efficiency and sustainability, and it plays a crucial role in the jewellery design process. This paper intends to establish directions to help the design process become more efficient by integrating artificial intelligence-based programs and tools. Primarily, this paper focuses on using Artificial Intelligence throughout the design process, from the research to the communication phase. Each step involved in the design process is identified and analysed. Secondly, for each identified phase, this paper highlights strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and limitations that Artificial Intelligence offers in jewellery. In conclusion, the paper reflects on the role of designers in the new AI-driven design scenario, and it offers an overview of opportunities and challenges to be overcome for a more sustainable and innovative design process. |
