Habilidade metalingüística e leitura em escolares brasileiros de 1ª a 4ª séries do ensino elementar

Os objetivos deste estudo foram caracterizar e comparar o desempenho metalingüístico e de leitura de 120 escolares brasileiros de 1ª a 4ª séries, divididos em quatro grupos. Foi verificado diferença estatisticamente significante nas provas de habilidades metalingüísticas e de leitura. Os desempenhos dos escolares se tornaram superior da 1ª para a 4ª série. O desempenho foi superior nas provas silábicas se comparada as provas fonêmicas. Ocorreu prevalência do uso da rota fonológica nas séries iniciais e da rota lexical na 4ª série. The aim of this study was to characterize and to compare the metalinguistic and reading performance of 120 Brazilian students from 1st to 4th grades, divided into 4 groups. There were statistically significant differences. The performance of the students was superior for the 1st to 4th grade. There was superior performance in the syllabic tasks as compared to the phonemic ones. There is prevalence of use of the phonological route in the initial grades and the lexical route in the 4th grade.
