Resumo: This guide presents a selecti on of canyoning routes in Portugal. It includes a detailed descripti on of these routes and a list of many others. The book covers three territories: mainland Portugal, Madeira Island, and the Azores Archipelago. Routes selecti on accounted for sporti ng and recreati onal interest, fi xed equipment conditi ons, accessibiliti es, and restricti ons. The informati on provided is the best to the author’s knowledge. It refers to the route conditi ons and equipment in April 2023, considering a regular fl ow in the summer season. The writi ng of this guide, in additi on to the work of its authors, had direct or indirect contributi ons from canyoners, was based on fi eldwork and by consultati on of several databases, guidebooks, and topos available, namely from the Associação Desportos Aventura Desnível (www.desnivel.pt), Clube de Aventura da Madeira and ECDC Portugal.
