The main goal of the project is to create a translation that meets the needs of players and to effectively justify the translation choices made throughout the process. To this end, this project will be divided into four distinct parts: (i) a detailed contextualization of the history and functioning of Dungeons & Dragons as a tabletop roleplaying game and the corresponding target audience; (ii) a theoretical and methodological framework that aims to define and explain the concepts of Fantasy and interactivity in board game translation, as well as the processes, typologies and strategies that were necessary for the analysis and translation of the excerpts, such as Vinay and Darbelnet's translation typology, Localization, Transcreation and Newmark's typology of neologisms; (iii) the proposed translation of the aforementioned excerpts; (iv) the analysis and justification of the translation, followed by the presentation of problems encountered during the translation process and their solutions.There are several variables that can affect the way the translation process takes place, but when it comes to translating a game with the specificities of Dungeons & Dragons, the priority will always be the gameplay and the immersion of the reader/player in the fantasy world.Este trabalho tem como foco a tradução de excertos de dois dos livros auxiliares ao jogo de tabuleiro narrativo Dungeons & Dragons, sendo eles o Player’s Handbook e o Monster Manual, da língua original (inglês) para a variedade europeia da língua portuguesa. O objetivo principal é criar uma tradução adequada às necessidades dos jogadores e justificar eficazmente as escolhas de tradução tomadas ao longo do processo.
