As respostas sociais que procuram ir ao encontro das necessidades das pessoas idosas têm sofrido uma crescente evolução quando se trata de escolher a resposta na qual querem e/ou necessitam de integrar. Expressão desta evolução é o facto de, entre várias respostas possíveis, hoje se privilegiar o envelhecimento no próprio ambiente domiciliário e familiar do idoso. O Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário (SAD), para além do seu carácter inovador, vem destacar-se por se revelar como sendo uma verdadeira alternativa à institucionalização. Porém, a resposta em causa tem sido alvo de reflexões que vêm criticar a sua intervenção meramente assistencialista e standardizada, sendo neste contexto que surge o presente estudo. Partindo do interesse pela resposta em causa, surge a vontade de perceber o que leva realmente o idoso a optar por envelhecer em sua casa e que dinâmica está associada ao SAD a partir de uma instituição de solidariedade social, no sentido de melhor responder às necessidades do idoso. Destas duas vertentes resulta um conjunto de reflexões, nomeadamente a reflexão sobre a possibilidade de heterogeneizar o SAD, numa perspetiva preventiva e não formal de apoio ao processo de envelhecimento no domicílio, de modo a ir ao encontro das necessidades sociais e educativas do idoso. O presente estudo é desenvolvido a partir da valência de Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário do Lar Passo Sénior, pertencente ao Centro Social e Distrital de Aveiro (CESDA), com recurso ao método qualitativo como metodologia de investigação e com a colaboração de vários órgãos, diretivos e não diretivos, pertencentes a esta Instituição.ABSTRACT Social responses that seek to meet the needs of older people have suffered an increasing trend when it comes to choose the answer in which they want and / or need to integrate. An expression of this evolution is the fact that, among several possible answers, today we focus on the aging of the elderly in their own home and family environment. The Home Support Service (SAD - Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário), in addition to its innovative nature, comes to stand - out to be as a real alternative to institutionalization. However, the response in question has been the subject of reflections that come to criticize its merely welfare and standardized intervention, and it is in this context that the present study arises. Starting from the interest in SAD, to better respond to the elderly needs, we aspire to realize what it is that really takes the elderly to choose to grow old in their home and what dynamic is associated with SAD from the stand point of a charitable organization. These two components results in a set of reflections, namely the reflection on the possibility of heterogenization SAD, a preventive perspective to support the process of aging at home, in order to meet the social and educational needs of the elderly. This study is developed from the "Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário do Lar Passo Sénior" belonging to the Social Centre and the District of Aveiro ( CESDA - Centro Social e Distrital de Aveiro), using the qualitative method as a research method and with the collaboration of various agencies, directors and non-directive, belonging to this institution .
