O Museu de Portimão está instalado numa antiga fábrica de conservas e é considerado um dos espaços culturais de referência do concelho, pela diversidade de atividades que oferece à comunidade, com o objetivo de a colocar em contacto com o património histórico e cultural local. É por isso mesmo, uma instituição ao serviço da sua comunidade. As exposições que apresenta pautam pelo humanismo e são o reflexo da evolução daquele território e dos povos que, durante séculos, se foram fixando e deixando os seus testemunhos de ocupação, mas também dos saberes e práticas que foram sendo passadas de geração em geração e ainda hoje se mantém vivas na memória de muita gente. Este relatório de estágio acompanhou o processo de preparação e montagem de uma exposição temporária sobre a ligação da população aos aspetos da terra e do mar, que assinalou o décimo aniversário da instituição. A população teve grande importância na sua realização, nomeadamente pelos conhecimentos e informações transmitidas durante o processo de pesquisa. Mas o sucesso de uma exposição está dependente de um variado conjunto de atividades, como a investigação, a recolha de objetos e consequente catalogação e preparação de determinados elementos essenciais à composição dos núcleos expositivos, como este trabalho procura demonstrar; ABSTRACT: The Museum of Portimão is installed in an old cannery and is considered one of the cultural centers of reference in the municipality, the diversity of activities that it offers to the community, with the goal of putting in contact with the historic heritage and local cultural. That's why an institution in the service of your community. The exhibitions features guide by humanism and are a reflection of the evolution of that territory and the people who, for centuries, if were attaching and leaving their testimonies of occupation, but also of knowledge and practices that were being passed down from generation to generation and still today remains alive in the memory of many people. This internship report followed the process of preparation and assembly of a temporary exhibition on the link of the general public to aspects of land and sea, which marked the tenth anniversary of the institution. The population was of great importance in your implementation, notably by knowledge and information transmitted during the research process. But the success of an exhibition is dependent on a diverse set of activities such as research, collecting and cataloguing objects and preparation of certain essential elements to the composition of the exhibition centers, as this work looking for show.
