Summary: Education for Citizenship is a requirement if we consider learning as a lifelong process that allows us to face the reality of each moment and context, based on a standard policy of recognition of Citizenship and education as a key strategy. The article aims to present the results of research that analyses the motivation and self-perceived satisfaction of 700 Spanish Compulsory Education students about the subject Education for Citizenship. Data were collected through an ad-hoc questionnaire and analysed with multivariate and inferential skills, parametric and homoscedasticity tests, as well as the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve. The main conclusion points out that motivation has a remarkable impact on students’ satisfaction. Gender, age, or centre have thereon no impact.

Gender, age, or centre have thereon no impact.Si entendemos el aprendizaje como un proceso a lo largo de toda la vida que permite enfrentarse a la realidad de cada momento y contexto, desde una política común de reconocimiento de la ciudadanía y de la educación como estrategia esencial de la misma; educar para la ciudadanía es una necesidad. Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación cuya finalidad es la de analizar la motivación y la satisfacción autopercibidas, de 700 estudiantes españoles de Educación Obligatoria, hacia la materia Educación para la Ciudadanía. Se utilizó un cuestionario diseñado ad hoc para recoger la información que fue analizada por medio de técnicas multivariantes e inferenciales, empleando pruebas paramétricas y de homocedasticidad, además de curvas Receiver Operating Characteristic. Como principal conclusión, destacar que la motivación influye considerablemente en la satisfacción hacia la materia.
