A hipertensão arterial é uma doença crónica, sendo o principal fator de risco de doença cardiovascular causando elevada mortalidade a nível mundial. Os enfermeiros através do empowerment podem capacitar os indivíduos a adotarem comportamentos saudáveis. Desenvolveu-se uma Scoping Review, com a questão: quais as intervenções de enfermagem no empowerment aos idosos com hipertensão arterial? Nas evidências obtidas identificou-se a importância do empowerment nas intervenções de enfermagem aos idosos com hipertensão arterial. Tendo como base a metodologia do Planeamento em Saúde, foi elaborado o Diagnóstico de Enfermagem segundo o Modelo Conceptual de Betty Neuman, que levou à intervenção comunitária “Hiper(A)tensão ao seu Coração” que teve como objetivos o aumento de conhecimentos face à hipertensão arterial e a adoção de comportamentos saudáveis, nos idosos com 65 ou mais anos de um bairro social. Os resultados apontam para um aumento de conhecimentos médio de 22%, demonstrando o impacto positivo do projeto. Arterial hypertension is a chronic disease, being the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease causing high mortality worldwide. Nurses through empowerment can empower individuals to adopt healthy behaviors. A Scoping Review was developed with the question: what are the nursing interventions in empowering of the aged with hypertension? The evidence obtained identified the importance of empowerment in nursing interventions for the aged with hypertension. Based on the Health Planning Methodology, the Nursing Diagnosis was elaborated according to Betty Neuman's Conceptual Model, which led to the community intervention “Hyper(A)tension to your Heart” which had as objectives the increase of knowledge regarding arterial hypertension and the adoption of healthy behaviors, in the aged with 65 or more years of a social neighborhood. The results point to an average knowledge increase of 22%, demonstrating the positive impact of the project
