Por essa razão, a arquitectura funciona corno um repositório de técnicas construtivas, assim como do quotidiano de quem nela habita. O Barroso corresponde a urna região que preserva, ainda hoje, uma identidade cultural forte, a qual se reflecte na arquitectura. Percebendo o modus vivendi desta região de Portugal, pretende-se compreender melhor a sua arquitectura e as dinâmicas sócio-culturais que lhe deram origem. Percorrendo obras de arquitectos contemporâneos de referência, procuraremos estudar os aspectos que as tornam singulares, embora as suas matrizes orientadoras sejam muito próximas. São obras de arquitectura que, pela forma como foram pensadas, têm fortes pontos de contacto com a arquitectura popular. Da análise feita, resulta o projecto do Centro Cultural para a vila de Montalegre, onde reflectimos acerca dos valores herdados que nos chegam dos métodos antigos de construção e onde não nos eximimos de expressar a nossa visão pessoal sobre esta temática.The influence of culture on architecture drives every building to develop a certain identity. For this reason, architecture works as a repository of constructive techniques, as well as of the everyday life of who inhabits there. Barroso represents a region that nowadays still presen’es a strong cultural identity, which also reflects in its architecture. We seek for a better understanding of Barroso’s architecture and socio-cultural dynarnics that originated it analysing the modus vivendi of this region of Portugal.. Analysing the work of contemporaq architects, we will study the aspects that make them unique buildings, even though the guide lines of their projects are very dose. These buildings were thought in a way that allows us to find similarities with vernacular architecture.
