Enquanto isso, o Comprometimento Afetivo Grupal parece ser muito benéfico para as equipas, impactando sua efetividade. No entanto, uma dimensão da efetividade, a Viabilidade Grupal, ainda é pouco estudada. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a relação entre o team PsyCap e a viabilidade grupal, considerando o papel mediador do comprometimento afetivo grupal. Nesse sentido, o PsyCap da equipa poderia criar condições positivas, nas quais o comprometimento afetivo pudesse ser potencializado, e, por sua vez, essa conexão emocional poderia impactar a viabilidade grupal, que pode ser entendida como a capacidade dos membros do grupo de trabalharem juntos em tarefas futuras. A amostra foi composta por 124 equipas, incluindo 124 líderes e 554 membros, atuando em diferentes setores de 83 organizações. Os líderes foram entrevistados sobre a viabilidade da equipe, enquanto os membros das equipes foram questionados sobre o team PsyCap e o comprometimento afetivo grupal. Os resultados mostraram que o comprometimento afetivo grupal medeia totalmente a relação entre o team PsyCap e a viabilidade grupal. A presente tese traz conhecimento para o nível grupal do PsyCap e para a viabilidade grupal, ambos ainda carentes de mais estudos. Por fim, há relevância prática, uma vez que pode ajudar os líderes a entender como o team PsyCap e o comprometimento afetivo são importantes para os resultados de suas equipas, visando realizar intervenções com base científica.Team Psychological Capital (team PsyCap) is an emergent state that involves team efficacy, optimism, hope and resilience, which has shown influence on the results achieved by workgroups. Meanwhile, Affective Team Commitment appears to be very beneficial to teams, impacting their effectiveness. However, one dimension of effectiveness, Team Viability, is still understudied. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between team PsyCap and team viability, considering the mediating role of affective team commitment. In that sense, team PsyCap could create positive conditions, in which affective team commitment could be enhanced, and, by its turn, this emotional connection could impact team viability, that can be understood as the ability of group members to work together on future tasks. The sample was composed of 124 teams, including 124 team leaders and 554 team members, working in different sectors from 83 organizations. Teams’ leaders were surveyed about team viability, while the teams’ members were surveyed about the team’s psychological capital and the team’s affective commitment. Results showed that affective team commitment fully mediates the relationship between team psychological capital and team viability. The present thesis brings knowledge to the group-level of PsyCap and to team viability, both still in need to have more studies.
