Publisher Copyright: © 2023, The Author(s).The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score was developed more than 25 years ago to provide a simple method of assessing and monitoring organ dysfunction in critically ill patients. Changes in clinical practice over the last few decades, with new interventions and a greater focus on non-invasive monitoring systems, mean it is time to update the SOFA score. As a first step in this process, we propose some possible new variables that could be included in a SOFA 2.0. By so doing, we hope to stimulate debate and discussion to move toward a new, properly validated score that will be fit for modern practice.NOVA Medical School|Faculdade de Ciências Médicas (NMS|FCM)RUNMoreno, RuiRhodes, AndrewPiquilloud, LiseHernandez, GlennTakala, JukkaGershengorn, Hayley B.Tavares, MiguelCoopersmith, Craig M.Myatra, Sheila N.Singer, MervynRezende, EderlonPrescott, Hallie C.Soares, MárcioTimsit, Jean Françoisde Lange, Dylan W.Jung, ChristianDe Waele, Jan J.Martin, Greg S.Summers, CharlotteAzoulay, ElieFujii, TomokoMcLean, Anthony S.Vincent, Jean Louis2023-01-30T22:18:32Z2023-012023-01-01T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/148416eng1364-8535PURE: 51541861https://doi.org/10.1186/s13054-022-04290-9info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (RCAAP)instname:FCCN, serviços digitais da FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologiainstacron:RCAAP2024-05-22T18:08:40Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/148416Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireinfo@rcaap.ptopendoar:https://opendoar.ac.uk/repository/71602025-05-28T17:39:22.215826Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (RCAAP) - FCCN, serviços digitais da FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologiafalse
